MINI SUCCULENT PLANTS
Mini Succulents bring the joy of succulent plants to a cute, convenient size. These small-scale treasures are perfect for desks, dorm rooms, narrow sills, and other tight spaces. They come in a wide variety of shapes and colors so, even with limited space, you can cultivate a unique succulent collection.
Care
The needs of tiny succulent plants are diverse but, in general, they'll need fast draining soil and infrequent watering. Note that some of the plants on this list are frost hardy and others are tender or soft.
Hardy succulents (i.e. Sempervivum, many Sedum, and Prometheum) are succulents that can tolerate frost and cold weather. These plants tend to do better outside and, in fact, prefer the harsh elements to the pampered life of an indoor plant.
Soft succulents (i.e. Echeveria, Haworthia, and Crassula) are succulents who cannot take frost and cold weather. These plants will need to be grown as houseplants or otherwise protected from the cold and harsh weather of winter. Small indoor succulents will thrive in sunny window sills.
Uses
Mini plants are great for gifts. Receiving a tiny Senecio serpens is significantly easier than receiving a four foot tall Portulacaria afra bush.
Mini outdoor plants can be used to fill small crevices in rock gardens or places in a decorative bed where the soil might be too thin for other plants.
This function can even apply to indoor plant arrangements to fill in spaces in large pots where other plants would be too large to fill.
Regardless of how you use them, mini succulents are adorable and bring happiness in a fun sized package.
